good morning Warriors happy Tuesday March 28th 2023 and there are just 44 days left of school this quarter time is flying this is a reminder to seniors some of your getting a bad habit of failing classes I feel like we're not so important even though they may be aren't a graduation requirement your GPA and you're passing the classes is critical so as a reminder you must be passing all classes to participate in senior activities passing is defined as a higher than a d there might be some exceptions to the DI but we got to talk about it first so if you're not passing your classes you're putting yourself at risk of not going to Disneyland and not participating in our senior Sunset dinner where we take you out to a fancy dinner not participating in our senior field day and other exciting things that we have going on like prizes and random drawing so you want to make sure at all times your grades are not at risk of failing you cannot have any disease or apps for this class so get your grades up here's our upcoming calendar I will be sending home your attend a progress report messaging to parents that's letting them know what your grades and missing our assignments are up to this point so check your grades and Q today make that your teachers have accounted for all of the grades and assignments you know who have turned in the strength of Warriors what makes Ciara special is the fact that the Warriors here to support each other if you want to Sierra a place where you can be a success and other soon it's going to be a success and we get known as a successful place then let's keep it a place of kindness maturity and respect for all students and staff we are not Middle School Bulldogs anymore you are a hore he ran on the warrior team so please act according me show the community and our peers that our school continues to be a great place to be that a safe and comfortable and hardworking and determined a quote of the day the moment you master emotional intelligence the game changes your emotional intelligence is what will help you be successful in life but what is emotional intelligence is self-awareness who you are and what you stand for itself for you knowing how to control your impulsive behaviors and your emotions empathy and its social skills knowing how to read the room how to talk and work with people even if you don't like them that is emotional intelligence it is the number one predictor of success in life so if you feel like you're not strong in one of these areas do some research about how to have some emotional intelligence in that area going back to her paws posters and so the A and Paws stands for SS what is activating you my identifying what is really activating the emotion you can then appropriately handle the cause are you feeling threatened are you feeling miss her are misunderstood do something early in the day make you feel tense and now other things are triggering it do you feel invalidated do you feel overwhelmed and this is just one more thing are you feeling challenged self-regulate no matter what what is activating you once you see a notice what is activating it's your job to self-regulate remind yourself that that feeling is just one moment and in another moment or a few moments later you will have a different feel to take calming breaths and reassure your body ain't that you are safe your body does not know the difference between physical safety and emotional safety and you have to be intentional and breathing it breathing reassures your body your blood your heart rate that you are okay and not about to be attacked by some lion or whatever am I in the old days that caused our bodies to create the self protection that breathing is key and critical for your heart and everybody else everything else the chemicals in your body to get back into a relaxed state remind you again you are responsible for your actions no matter what's trigger you or what's going on your life you are still responsible for your actions if anyone is not actively monitoring and self regulating their emotions and reactions and they lose their temper or have a fresh two tone or just respectful then that person is responsible for reflecting and repairing the relationship you messed up how are you going to fix it there are natural consequences you might lose friends you might lose the respect of your classmates might lose respect of your teacher what are natural consequences and then there's also the impost ones that Mrs Henry or the teachers will impose on you if you do something that is irresponsible so and all moments I think about how your tone of voice and the words you say impact the people in the room not just yourself for senior person you are saying those words to think about how it affects the students who may have trauma in their life who come to school to be safe things I-80 move experienced horrible things in their life. Those kids and how you might be impacting then someone else in think about how you impact the flow and the school climate and culture at our school we work very hard to create a safe space for each and every student must continue that and all moments be mindful of how you contribute to the positive and safe spaces we create year at Sierra all right rotary scholarship I may keep reminding you I have printed them copies in the office it is a very easy scholarships to apply for your parents if you are a senior have gotten a message about this please see Miss Jackie for an application we have a great event plan for April 14th I hope you can make it and have a great rest of your Tuesday
