Good afternoon this is Mr. Lomeli and welcome to back to school night is that I teach or math PE and graphic design a little bit about me as a teacher I was born and raised in the city of Fillmore currently coach soccer and also teach here and Fillmore Unified and Sierra High School enjoy working in the comunity both with sports and in the classroom math. Math basically iisintegrated math which is called math 1 is the first course of three courses sequence that satisfies California common core standards for integrated math 1 integrated math 1 fields on straight and strain students conceptual knowledge of functions equations inequalities sequences basic exponential functions systems of linear equations systems of linear inequalities one variable description statistics correlation and keeps going right mathematical model both coordinates and transformational geometry but I think what's most important is that math one is a requirement for graduation all students must pass math one and we trying to get that done are in 2/4 are they do go on to math to which is what Builds on math one it's so math one builds so that you can be successful in math 2 basic math so we do have students on campus that basis they have their basic arithmetics very low so we did offer that to try to build them to have success in math one so some of your students might be in basic here at Sierra we call a critical thinking problem solving and we cover the basic basically spent six which is a whole numbers fractions decimals percents sign numbers dreamforce is of this course is to be able to perform these calculations by hand so Atmos we try to use them have them use do the math without a calculator and then hopefully by the end they can solve simple equal another topic that I'll be teaching the school year would be PE physical education I'm one of the teachers at TJ and this course basically requires all students that this is Eric Cartman graduate this course will focus on developing proficiency movement skills in the areas of dry land so we don't have a pool here and individuals and dual activities will focus on Independence Fitness whenever possible that's what we did during covid-19 do it on their own this course will include both physical and written assignments at time specially on many days for the most part students will be have the to maintenance or maintain an active during the class. So we ask that they are actively participating during the class another topic I teaches Graphic Design This is an elective and covers art requirement for graduation so we are in conjunction with the art Department in that car since this course explores the fundamentals of graphic design such as color layout and design through the use of Adobe Illustrator the programme used Adobe Illustrator and will be utilizing procedure or process will produce I'm sorry it will produce various graphic arts products including sublimation if possible you delete those two things that take it for more for more than a year get to that point or they come in in the morning to get that done so here's a breakdown of my classes all math classes have this breakdown practice with homework and practice in class is considered 30% of your grade tests are considered 30% of their grade quizzes about 20% of the grade and bpa's is about 20% of the grade so that's about where we're at in math so it's very important that they passed tests and quizzes to be successful in pee it's a wait I put weekly logs in case we have to go back to online learning but basically it's all of it it's basically participating you know are they doing PE of the activity participating out there so if you add those together it's pretty much all participation Libby PA stands for Behavior participation accountability behaving are they participating in are they being accountable during the class are they coming to school most of the time being accountable so the last a breakdown on my classes graphic design and we have weekly projects that they have to finish that's like a designed to have to do and that's worth 50% of your grade obviously again BPA you see that and every class and it's 20% and then the portfolio which is they make a portfolio of all there are projects at the end of the quarter and put in a profolio format and that's worth 30% of your grade how you can communicate with me here's my email you can also call the school and they can transfer the call leave a message and I can call you back or email works the best we usually on that so we can reply to you or if you have any questions
