good morning Warriors happy Tuesday April 18th we have just 36 days of school until summer which means it's just 35 days until graduation and 29 days of school until finals week and that means just 18 days of school are all assignments to be turned in seniors your due dates will be even earlier than that so be on the lookout from your teachers when they give you those two dates for all seniors there's our calendar for the rest of the school year it's flying by tomorrow I will be sending progress reports home so make sure you check your grades today so that any corrections can be made in time for me to send those in for that information home to parents more information is coming about all the new things and changes on this honor so pay attention in the next few slides are going home tomorrow check your grades today prom is on Saturday for Fillmore high school so I've gotten some clarification Sierra High School sophomores in here's can go but they have to be someone from Fillmore High School's guess the person you were going with needs to pick up the guest form from the student store Sierra High School seniors do not have to be somewhere High School guest they can go and get the gas pass by themselves with their ID or I can print you your idea ID and you can take it to the Sprint store to get the guest pass for yourself I simply need to sign it granting you permission to go to the dance if you are seeing Sierra High School senior but you do need to to me as soon as possible I've had students try to get him to me on Saturday morning for a dance and that did not work cuz I wasn't around so please make sure you plan ahead as a reminder note these are a store suspensions this quarter in order to be able to go to also please note that when you check your grades if you have an F there's many times we are getting pulled from Alexis lunch or after school to get caught up we cannot have any F's going until the last few weeks of the quarter it's too risky especially For You seniors so to pay getting call slips at various times I have a very long list of students who are currently failing at least one class as mentioned yesterday state test is coming I want you to know what it measures it measures your growth you improved since the last time you took the test it also measures School growth are we doing a good job of helping students improve overall and comparison and uses it to compare our growth to Fillmore High School Santa Paula and other continuation high schools that's a pretty successful years in the past and we want to continue that so please help us keep those scores high so that we can continue to promote the successes of Sierra so that you could be proud when you go out to apply for jobs or tell your future family that you went to Serra High School it also helps us know what you keep doing and what to stop doing it tells us which students need more help and which students need less help when we don't need to put them in interventions it also determines how we spend our money do we need to spend money making students make intervention classes or can we spend money on in Richmond thanks and also the federal government uses it to double-check that we are teaching what we require to teach in order to fund our schools if we did a red flag and it shows that we're not teach what we need to be teaching it gets a lot more strict over here so we want to make sure we do our best on test so what you need to know on Thursday we want all Juniors to bring a laptops and chargers to school because they're going to stay over the weekend that gives us Thursday evening Friday day and all weekend to get anything that needs to be fixed fixed on Friday during tutorial we're going to have all computers turn on make sure that they have access to sound and attempt to log into the testing system just to make sure you all have the access to the right applications then starting next week all students will be assigned a costume to be in for the week seniors and sophomores have assignments and activities that are required to do during this time and absences will continue to affect your grades all Juniors won't be having two language arts test you a math test on one side test to take some seniors just like four of you have the science test to take if you did not take it last year I'll be letting you know who those people are on Friday so you know Juniors if you miss school and are tardy to school and missed you the test-taking time you're going to be staying after school every day until you get your test completed so please do not miss school take the test when it's time to take the test get it done in a timely manner alright seniors we need graduation speakers if you're interested in giving graduation speech please submit a written example of your speech by Monday so take some time this weekend to write a rough draft of it don't worry we'll have you make a great I'm going to hold some tryouts sometime next week during State Testing when of the juniors are occupied with their test also seen your caps and gowns arrive on Monday so during testing next week we will be getting you tried on where to make sure that they'll fit we do hold them until graduation but you can borrow them for photos as long as your parents sign a form acknowledging I need to return it as a reminder you may not alter your cap and gown they have to stay plain black for graduation if you want to make a cap cover you can make a cat cover but it needs to be completely removable and you would keep it at home until after the ceremony you can't however we're lays so any school appropriate lays are permitted during the ceremonies Disneyland update June 5th we've had to move it so that we can reduce the cost so June 5th we're going at the same time is Fillmore high school and it will be to Disney California only that's how we were able to save some money and we almost have enough money for donated that's why I did it otherwise we still had about half way to go but now we've surprised I have and so we're getting close we have about two hundred dollars more to fundraise if you want to donate or pay for yourself it is optional we're looking at about 30 more dollars per student and that means everybody all 40 of the students wanting to go we'll get to that which is exciting but we're getting close I hoped car payment on Friday so anything can help so if you wanted to contribute $5 10 dollars $100 whatever you want to contribute that would be wonderful but if not I'm still asking other people for donations so if you know somebody that owns a business and when you contribute let me know I will make a phone call also seniors if you have to do that for my cell Juniors it's important for you to know this to if you owe money at Fillmore high school for any books you did not return at any point in your education film or you will not be permitted to graduate until those dues are paid or the books are returned if you have questions please see Miss Beatrice in the office she has a list of things that you need to return she's also mailed them out to your families but also let her know if you're going to need help paying the dues because for some people is a lot of money for some people it's not so go check in if you have questions I also need to send out a reminder absolutely no forms of sexual harassment this includes teasing or joking about how someone likes somebody else jokes about sexuality jokes about their relationship dating all those things could be seen as sexual harassment think about it this way if you're in an office and somebody of the opposite gender is making fun of you and acting like you know you are dating them or have dated them or making fun of your sexual they will get fired because that sexual harassment we treated the same here at school it is suspendable it will be investigated a police report will be made so please suspend yourself and monitor that you're at school and that kind of harassment is not permitted at any X it is this is the time to be practicing those mature skills and a professional setting alright Warriors have an exceptional Tuesday we just have six more Tuesday's to go
