Students of the week i-Ready Testing Next Week

good morning Senior High School Warriors today is Friday August 25th and there are just 29 days left of school have a great Friday today here's a couple of announcements are students of the week can grab locations to our first students of the week this school year and they are from mr. lomeli Claudia Sanchez Alonzo she's been a great help to students and is engaged in her learning from Mrs Henry and Carol is for being positive engaged kind on her way to help a random classmate from is Jackie Jonathan 1500 for being helpful motivated and a natural leader as an office aide for Mr carryin no more ideas for always being engaged and positive from Mr Chavez home back that water is for being consistently on task and exceptionally well-behaved and from Mr Gonzalez Darren aren't for always doing great and helping others for our quarter 1 Calendar we have Adult School open house tomorrow for 26 district office are updates yesterday's attendance was 86% today if 99 students get to school by lunchtime the schoolhouse going to reward at lunchtime that means only five students can be absent so we'll see if you can get any more today we have Aloha Day games at lunch and later this week is that Adult School open house registration tomorrow let anybody that you know might need an ESL English as a second language citizenship computers Auto are there high school diploma know about it we're to be starting our I already diagnostic assessment soon remember that I ready diagnostic is important because it helps you and your teachers understand what you already know what you need to still learn and it helps us make best use of your learning time so if you show on the test that you were do you know something teachers don't have to waste your time boring you teaching again and we can get really focused on the things that you do need in order to make great great double standards diagnostic is adaptive that means the questions changed based on the answers to your earlier questions and so you're going to see questions that you won't know how to answer and that is okay some questions will be hard some will be easy it's only be just right you're going to find that it goes up and down because it's testing you for a different very key skills and so he's going to find it just right level for example on writing it's going to find you're just right level on grammar is going to find her just right level on spellings going to find a just-right level on multiplication is confined to street level on Geometry so it's going to go in and out of being too easy and too hard but it's really critical that you push yourself to do the very best that you can because we need it to be accurate for what you do and do not absolutely no students here should be showing up there and Elementary levels for any of the skills on the i-Ready test if that happens we're going to have to talk about it and get some interventions going there will be a word for every student that shows that they in the high school Range so anywhere between 9th and 12th grade on either math or reading you are almost adults so we expect you to show a mature effort we know you are capable of doing more than Elementary work last year we had quite a few that fell into that Elementary category which surprises because you've been doing great we know that you can do better if your scores are below what they were last year or you're scoring far below what we know you are capable of we will have an intervention meeting with your parent guardian and set up an intervention plan because that's not okay have to be at the high school level or better because you're about to be adults progress reports are going to be sent to families on Wednesday so you know how those you that your new teachers grades are updated by Monday afternoon so you want to make sure that today if you have any outstanding to psi but you're still carrying around in your bag or on the computer you get it turned in so that the grades on Monday can be the best that they can be after teachers could finish their grading then on Tuesday morning when you return if you have an error or you know you've turned something in our you have something in your hand right then you have opportunity to talk to your teachers because Wednesday morning I start pushing out the grades to parents you want to make sure that those are the absolute best you can and will happen to every 10 days of school that they're going to get these updates so think of yourself as he has many goals and making sure that every 10 days you keep your grades up and if you do that at the end of the quarter you will have great grades and you leave passing all of your classes alright Warriors have an ekseption or Friday
